From meeting recording to transcript
Save the recording
Use your meeting platform or recorder after confirming that recording is allowed. Export a supported audio or video file.
Choose the file and spoken language
Open Whisper Web on the device holding the recording. Select the file and the language used in the meeting.
Run transcription
Keep the tab open while the browser processes the recording. Use timestamps to replay any passage that needs checking.
Edit and export
Correct the text in the workspace. Copy it or download TXT/JSON for notes, or SRT/VTT for subtitles.
Check decisions before sharing
Names, dates and amounts
Replay the source when a name, deadline or number affects the meaning. Do not rely on the draft alone.
Who agreed to what
Add speaker names yourself. Check whether a statement was a decision, a suggestion or an open question before turning it into an action item.
What the recipient needs
Share the corrected transcript or selected excerpts when the recipient does not need the original recording. Write any summary yourself.
Choose the tool and keep a copy
Use standard transcription for a file up to 300 MB and 20 minutes. For a longer meeting, use the large-file tool for a local file up to 1 GB and 1 hour. Split recordings that exceed either large-file limit.
Export the finished text before leaving. Transcription history stores text and timestamps, not the original media. To replay a saved transcript later, choose the original recording again.
Common questions
Can Whisper Web transcribe a meeting live?
No. It can record microphone audio or transcribe a saved file, but it does not capture audio from a live conference tab or join the call as a bot.
Does it create minutes or action items?
No. It creates a transcript with timestamps. Review the recording, add speaker names and write decisions or action items yourself.
Is the meeting recording uploaded?
No. The selected file is decoded and transcribed on the current device. The application and selected Whisper model still download over the network.
