Local transcription workflows for the recordings you already have
Meetings, voice memos, interviews and podcasts need different review steps. Choose a workflow that matches the recording, the output and the privacy boundary.
What these pages cover
Start with the recording you have and the result you need. Whisper Web creates an editable transcript with timestamped segments; it does not identify speakers, summarize conversations or join live calls.
Use case · recorded meetings
Transcribe a meeting recording without adding a bot to the call
Use this workflow when you already have a meeting recording and want a searchable transcript without a meeting assistant joining the call. It is not a live notetaker: it does not identify speakers, write summaries or extract action items for you.
Turn a voice memo into editable text in your browser
Export the voice memo as a file before you begin. Whisper Web reads only the file you choose and does not connect directly to your phone's memo library.
Review a recorded interview without uploading the source audio
Local processing reduces one data handoff: the interview recording is not sent to Whisper Web. You still need permission to record, a suitable device and a careful review process before quoting or sharing the transcript.
Create text and captions for a podcast clip on your device
Whisper Web's local workflow accepts files up to 300 MB and 20 minutes, so it fits podcast clips and short episodes better than a typical long-form show. The transcript includes timestamped segments but not speaker labels or an automatic summary.
